Merry Christmas! | by Kevin Meyer
God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth…to a virgin…(Luke 1:26). Ever wonder what Gabriel was doing? Working on another heavenly project somewhere in God’s vast kingdom? Playing hoops with the guys? Gabriel comes before God, Gabe, it’s time. And God adds, Operation Incarnation. Gabe knew exactly what God meant.
For many long years God with his angel armies have worked on this plan in the heavenly war room. Over the centuries they have made progress toward this objective. It’s zero hour. Go to Nazareth and tell this virgin-child the news: “You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus…The Lord God will give him the throne…his kingdom will never end” (Luke 1:31-33).
Rejoice! Today a child is born. The most impossible miracle of all – not a virgin with child nor an elderly barren women to give birth – but God being birthed a man to save us from ourselves and our sin! Merry Christmas!
