How to Live Missionally | by George Kenworthy
Living Missionally. What does that mean? We want to be conduits for God encounters. Through our prayers, caring and sharing, we want to partner with the Kingdom so that people can experience God. In our culture of social media, the emphasis is on “face-to-face” loving, caring and listening.
We will be collaborating with churches across the metro to pray for our city, care for our city and share with our city. God is always at work, drawing people to Himself.
Acts 17:26,27 TPT From one man, Adam, he made every man and woman and every race of humanity, and he spread us over all the earth. He sets the boundaries of people and nations, determining their appointed times in history. He has done this so that every person would long for God, feel their way to him, and find him—for he is the God who is easy to discover!
As we are attentive to what God may be doing, don’t be surprised if God opens opportunities for you to express His love in tangible ways. Pray along with what God is already doing, as part of His ongoing story. Instead of holding off the worst, think of your prayers as asking God to bring on the best.
This is how an individual can live out this mission:
Pray for 1
Pray for one person that God has placed in your heart. Share who you are praying for with your small group or with one other individual and pray. Thank God for letting you be part of their story. How has God provided for, protected or guided them? Notice what they might be facing. Pray with scripture.
Care for 1
Pray for one way to demonstrate genuine care and act on it as the Holy Spirit leads.
Share with 1
As God leads, lovingly and appropriately share the Gospel. Pray for opportunities to share how Jesus makes a difference in your life.
