Highlights from Semi-annual Business Meeting 2/2/2020
Updated: Feb 8
Our semi-annual business meeting took place on Sunday, February 2. It was a fun meeting with a focus on celebrating what God had done through the church family and a variety of ministry areas.
Caring Ministry: $48,000 were distributed from the caring fund to the community and the congregation, over 100 meals were made for 30 households, and 50 households were impacted by the Holiday Outreach.
Faith Community Nurses: in addition to blood pressure checks and working with area Faith Community Nurses, the team has made 475 phone calls, 335 visits and 100+ assists.
Chinese Ministry: The Chinese New Year celebration on 1/26/2020 had a big impact on the Chinese college students that attend the church. In addition to the many encouraged and supported each week, three students have received Christ.
Connecting and Small Groups: we have multiple resources for finding a small group on the website, app or kiosk in the lobby. In addition, almost 200 pounds of coffee were consumed in the month of May as we focused on celebrating community.
Prayer and Worship: 150 people of all ages read the Bible aloud for 79 hours to kick off January as we focused on God doing great things this year. We are also looking forward to a Global Outreach 2020 in May 2020 to focus on sharing Christ.
Kevin Meyer, Lead Pastor shared about opportunities we have to celebrate Lent and the number of exciting events scheduled for the spring. Be sure to pick up a Lenten card in the lobby.
We welcomed six new members and thanked Warwick Alcock for his time as an elder.
In April, we will be asking the congregation to invest in a survey of church health and vitality.
God continues to be amazingly faithful and this is just a snapshot of how He is working through each of us to impact lives and to allow us to glorify Him.
